It amazes me what you can do with a few pounds here! I mean, it still seems like its gotta be some sort of covert op, that is what I always thought when people would talk about paying off the guards. Then when we went, I realized that the guards almost force you to pay them off, a security guard showed us to this tomb told us no problem- take in our camera, then another one went in there and suggested poses! Then when we came out, they held out their hands for their bribe. Oh, Egypt, what a strange place you are!
