Here are some more images of what we saw. Sorry if it's hard to get a picture of what it looks like. It was very difficult to take pictures b/c in most area we were so close it was hard to take a picture(the building was build over the homes and the walkways are just feet above them) and in some areas they did some restoration work or the structures were so well preserved we were waking through the rooms and hallways.
The past picture shows stair descending under an arched roof. This is how their walkways were. In many cases you could walk the rooftops and stairs decendend into the homes or there were narrow covered streets. It is the same in the more modern old city of Jerusalem.
