I ventured out yesterday to try to find a REALLY cute holiday apron! I love love love baking and the holidays but I dno't have a very good Christmas-y apron for it. I couldn't find one so I decided to be brave and make my own! I found a pattern and Joe helped me pick out the fabric...
This was my very first totally on my own sewing machine project. In the past my mom has always been there to help me out. I still had to borrow her machine (sewing machine is on my
wish list)... and I set out last night. After cutting out the big part of the apron and starting to stitch it together. I realized I'd cut it out upside down. Usually it wouldn't be a problem but because it had words and pictures, it wouldn't really be so cute upside down....
So back to the store I went (about 15 min before they closed) to get another yard of fabric, good thing it was 60% off!
This time, I did a lot better! Not perfect, but practice makes perfect right?
So to not waste the one I had already cut (upside down) I decided to make the child's matching apron ... one day I'll have a girl..... The only one I could do was the smallest one (size 3/4) because it was the only one I could cut from the mis-cut piece. But look how adorable it is!!

Nice work! I think a sewing machine is getting closer and closer to the top of my list 3years ago it wasn't even on there but I see so many cute things people do and I wouldn't have to do complicated things. Anywho, nice job! Hooray for Holidays!
It turned out soooo cute! I love the little girl one too!
You did a great job! Little bit loves helping me cook and she is only 15 months, so I'm sure it will come in handy when you have your little girl!
