Romeo & Juliet

Last night Casey and I went to see Romeo & Juliet Ballet at the Cairo Opera House. We enjoyed it so much. In my opinion it put the Nutcracker to shame. Lots of teachers that work with Casey went. It as nice to meet them and they all seemed so nice. She is a busy girl now! She leaves for school before 7am comes back around 4pm to tutor her 4 students, so most days she doesn't arrive back home until 7 or 8pm. I've been a bid bored this past week awaiting school to begin. I've studied Arabic a bit more in preperatin for class, but have been anticipating returning to school. I'm so glad I had the one-on-one tutoring sessions 8hrs a week over this break. It helped me so much! The first 2 weeks are an adjustment time so students are in the right level. I'm hoping to move up to the highest level of beginner--we will see. My program is divided into 3 levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and advanced--with 4 sub-sections in each level. Since there are so many students coming in from different programs they have many sub levels to accurately place everyone. The classes are around 6-10 students. I started at level zero called low beginner. If I keep up the hard work through this semester I shouldn't have any problem testing out of Arabic all the way to the advanced level at UNT (my university in Texas). That would mean I would only need 2 more classes before I receive a minor!

Casey is doing very well and I'm doing great. We can't wait to find out what trips my school will be taking us on this semester!!!! We have 11 more trips through AUC before we come home!!!! We have had so many great times here in Egypt. Last night at the opera house was one of them--the music a wonderful, the dancing beautiful and I was with my favorite person---Casey Anne!
